Calender Week 6

No weight this week as I was already in the Netherlands on Monday morning.

No fitness update because the damn cough came back. I want to get out and to the gym, so get lost cough.

I did sew a bit on my Sicilian Oranges, but I am now considering if I want to add another column to it to make it wider. It would then measure 170 * 220 cm. Maybe I will leave it at 153 * 220. I need to cut a bunch more blocks (either 13 or 26 depending on what I decide). I am also still sewing on my Star Struck blocks. And I had this idea spinning around in my mind for green liberated frames on white. I made a few test blocks, but am not sure they are all going to end up in the final quilt.

Started a new pair of socks for ski world championship watching and traveling. Brown for MyGuy.

I am currently knitting the free pattern Jules and the current KAL sock for the Socks from the Toe up: Serpentine Sock.

World Cup Toe Up break the Trend

Here the promised break of the trend: wild green socks. Drachenwolle, knitted after my own interpretation of Wendy's basic toe up sock. I wanted to see if the slip stitch heel would work when doing it in stockinette stitch. It does.

Notice a trend?

These are the last three pairs of socks I knit. Anyone notice a trend? Well I can promise you that the next pair to be displayed are not going to be neutral colored cotton socks.

These are my Winterstrand socks, done in time for the warm days we are finally having.















And these are MyGuy's boring blue socks taking it easy after their first outing with MyGuy last week when the weather was still nasty.

As I had the Winterstrand socks going, I cast on for another pair of MyGuy socks. Greyish cotton two by two ribbing for summer wear. Not that we have had much summery weather this month so far. April had been kinder to us.

Apart from that I have decided to join the WIP cup on ravelery and finish my Green Bob during the Worldcup (Soccer).

Mindless Knitting

I finished knitting my Thuja Sunrise yesterday and you can see them relaxing with part of their namesake on the balcony. I hope to get some action shots when MyGuy is around, but until then I will leave you with this relaxed picture of my fraternal twins.















After having needle and scissors out from kitchenering my second Thuja sunrise sock, I finished off the first one of the boring blue socks for MyGuy.

Some Knitting Pictures

This it is the second Tychus I have cast on, the first already went to a friend for all his help. This one is for me. I think I have figured out a way to reduce the holes at the turn and as with the first I did a provisional cast on and will graft the hat.

This is my project for the Ravelympics, cast on yesterday morning which is as close to the openig as I could make it. As toe up is still a new thing for me the cast on was not so nice, but practice will improve that I think

Lastly my last pair of commuting socks that I finished. These ones are for me, out of one of the Regia balls Betty sold me. Her hubby is allergic to Regia, but I am pleased to have them. Especially I love those colors and think a sweater like that would be fabulous.

Fall Socks done

I finished my fall rib socks, too, but still no picture. Though the internet is back to working.

Cory Socks done

My Cory Socks are done! No picture as internet and photographs are not working at home. But I am pleased and won't overdye them now.

Fall Socks

Having ripped the Ishbel and finished the coupon scarf I cast on for another pair of mindless socks. The fall colors of my other gift ball were just right. So the fall socks live near my TV chair and the Cory socks in my commuter bag. Nicely mindless all of it. Ishbel will be reborn after the wedding.

Spaghetti Socks - 1 down

I finished my first Spaghetti-Sock and it weighs in at 43 gramm, with 57 gramm left, so I should be getting a second one too. Puh! I had made the leg a bit longer and gotten worried as they are also a bit longer in the foot being for MyGuy.

Spaghetti Socks Picture

This is my rvised Spaghetti Sock. Iout the spiral in, because it reminds me of Spaghetti twisted around the fork. I have reached the heel on sock number one and think it looks okay. MyGuy should be getting a new pair of socks sometime soon.

Spaghetti Socks cast on

I have cast on Vollkornspaghetti mit Tomatensauce, but ripped it again, and now am doing them without the knotted rib, using a twisted stitch instead. Going nicely. Will soon take a picture.

Finally a finished object

Finished object after a long long time. These are the socks I started 2 weeks ago at the knitting meeting. They are stockinette stitch as I wanted to get a clear picture of how Betty's blanks would turn out. I love the colors a lot (not that that will surprise people who know me). I have two small balls of yarn left and as I now have two small people in my life: Maja born in January and Liam born in June, I will have no trouble finding a recipient for some kiddie socks.

I am know going to cast on for MyGuys spaghetti socks. As I could not find a spaghetti or noodle socks pattern, I fell back to Barbara Walker and her First Treasury for Knotted Rib combined with broad spiral rib.

Formula 1 Socks

No not because of the color, but because I knit most of the first one while watching the qualifying and the race at Nürburg last weekend. Now I have reached the heel on the second one, so they should get finished at some point soon. Better start balling the Spaghetti yarn.
